3C
Communications together with Hard Rock Café, Stockholm
- One step ahead in the card processing solutions world!
A few weeks ago Micros
Fidelio went live with their new Hand Held Terminals at the
Hard Rock Café in Stockholm, Sweden. This is the first
location using an integrated credit card reader on Hand Held
Terminals.
Being a location which is using 3C Communications for their
integrated credit card handling since a few years back, it
was natural for them to also integrate and use 3C Communications
for the pilot project, and it
works successfully!
The
concept is as simple as effective! With these wireless Hand
Held Terminals, the Hard Rock Café staff can take orders,
sending them to the kitchen, add on orders, and also swipe
the guests credit card on the terminals with the integrated
credit card reader, and all of this is done while standing
at the guests table.
This will enable Hard Rock Café to focus on their guests,
-"Love All, Serve All".
Via wireless communication the Hand Held Terminal sends the
transaction to 3C, which completes the authorisation of the
card in only a few seconds. This improves the handling of
payments, and also gives the guests a higher level of security,
as the card never leaves the guest and the table. No doubt
that the Hard Rock café in co-operation with 3C have
made a major breakthrough in terms of integrated payment processing
in a POS system.

TELE2
becomes the first client of 3C in France for web payment solutions,
thanks to an interface recently developed with the CIC!
On
November 24th 2003, a new interface with the French Bank the
CIC went live, opening to 3C Communications the French market
in terms of Web
Payment Solutions. With this new interface, 3C
is henceforth able to offer to French companies the easy and
secure handling of all credit card transactions effected on
the web, including those effected with the French Carte Bancaire.
As a natural
and logical first customer, TELE2 France, the mother Company
of 3C Communications benefits since October 2003 from the
3C payment platform for e-commerce - 3CWeb2Pay - and more specifically from the 3C Card Checker
functionality!
·
What are the specifics of the Card Checker?
It's very
simple! It allows an on-line validation of a credit/debit
card for a small amount, e.g. 1 EUR (not debited to the card
holder), just to check whether the card is valid:
- The
card number is entered and a validation request for e.g. 1
EUR is sent to the bank.
- An authorisation code is automatically sent back by the
bank, validating or declining the card.
·
What is the purpose of the Card Checker?
It simply permits to securely start a subscription process
after having checked the data of a customer's card, without
having to instantly debit his account (the settlement is then
being effected on the basis of a standard invoice payable
by cheque). This service allows an on-line electronic registration,
by taking the place, to a certain extent, of an electronic
signature. This tool is specifically used in a CARD NOT PRESENT
environment such as on-line subscriptions or services managed
by call centres.
Since
the 27th of October 2003, TELE2 France handles one third of
its
on-line subscriptions to ADSL via this channel.
Additional services expected during the 1st quarter 2004:
- On-line
payments of TELE2 ADSL offer on their portal: www.tele2.fr
- On-line purchases of ADSL derived products (such as modems,
filters etc.) via a dedicated web shopping centre.
